Competition Council of the Republic of Moldova resolved a case of unfair competition in the insurance market and issued Decision No SSP-26 of July 28, 2014 corncerning this case.
Thus, following the examination of the complaint filed by the company GRAWE CARAT Asigurari S.A, and investigations carried out, it was resolved that the insurance companies ĂœASITO SA, ĂœMOLDASIG SA, “DONARIS GROUP” SA,” KLASSIKA ASIGURARI ” SA,” VICTORIA ASIGURARI “SA has endangered the credibility of the Insurance Company “GRAWE CARAT Asigurari” SA by its exclusion from the market of compulsory insurance against external civil automotive liability (Green Card) based on allegations that do not match the truth, approved in the Extraordinary General Meeting of National Bureau of Motor Insurance.
In this regard, the Competition Council resolved the infringement of Article 15 b) of the Competition Law No 183 of 11.07.2012 by the insurance companies Ăœ ASITO “SA,” DONARIS – GROUP “SA,” Klassik insurance “SA, “MOLDASIG” SA, “VICTORIA INSURANCE” SA imposed fines to listed companies in amount of 1.4 million. lei.
