For the first time, on 18-20 October 2017, a regional workshop on the application of state aid law in the provision of services of general economic interest is being carried out in the Republic of Moldova. The Project is organized under the TAIEX External Assistance Program offered by the European Commission, whose beneficiary is the Competition Council of the Republic of Moldova.

The event was opened and will be moderated, by Mrs.Viorica CĂRARE, the President of the Competition Council of the Republic of Moldova.

This project offers the opportunity to exchange experience and take on good practices in the area of Ă‹Ă‹state aid in the region. In order to benefit from the training, representatives of the Competition Authorities from Ukraine and Georgia were invited. The Competition Council of the Republic of Moldova, being the host of this event due to its remarkable results in state aid, will share the experience of successful projects with the Eastern Partnership countries. Mr.Ion MAXIM, the Member of the Plenum of the Competition Council of the Republic of Moldova, will approach the Importance of Implementation of the Altmark criteria in the Republic of Moldova, the indicators on the activity of the Competition Council in the field of state aid, the weighting by type of activity of the Services of General Economic Interest in Moldova, will also present the electronic platform SIRASM. At the same time, Mr.Veaceslav GUÅ¢UȚUI the Member of the Plenum of the Competition Council of the Republic of Moldova will talk about the General Economic Interest Services through the implementation of the National Program in the field of competition and state aid.

Another goal of the project is to improve the understanding of the Altmark criteria and to assist in developing the skills and competencies of local authorities and in the region. Some of the best qualified experts from Romania, Hungary, Croatia and of the European Commission’s Directorate General for Competition will share the European Union’s experience in granting / delegating rights and obligations to provide services of general interest in the light of the EU regulatory framework.
