For the first time, the Competition Council gathered representatives from 7 states in a large-scale regional event called “Investigation procedures and techniques in anti-trust cases”. The event takes place between November 13th – 15th, 2018, in Chisinau, and is organized by the Competition Council of the Republic of Moldova in partnership with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of the United States of America.

At the conference, are participating representatives from the competition authorities of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Georgia, the Republic of Lithuania, the Republic of Moldova, Romania, Ukraine as well as representatives of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the US Department of Justice (DOJ).

Viorica CĂRARE, President of the Competition Council of the Republic of Moldova and the representative of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) opened the event with a welcoming word. “It is important for us to take over already existing practices of cartels investigation. In this case, we are talking about the experience of the US colleagues, who have been in this field for more than 100 years,” – Mrs. CĂRARE mentioned.

It is a premiere when, during three days, the representatives of the Competition Council of the Republic of Moldova together with the US experts, shared with the colleagues from the competition authorities in the region, the experience and techniques used in the investigation of anti-competitive practices.

The participants at the Conference had the opportunity to accumulate new knowledge, participated in practical exercises, and shared their own experience, actively engaged in discussions and debates.
