Wednesday, May 13, 2015, Mrs. Viorica Carare, the President of the Competition Council met a delegation from the Republic of Belarus which has been paying a visit to Chisinau within the European Union Project Capacity Development Facility to support the implementation of sector programmes under the ENPI Annual Programmes for Belarus .
The purpose of the meeting was to take the experience of the Republic of Moldova with regard to the implementation of competition policy, law enforcement matters and competition advocacy.
During the meeting there were discussed important issues with reference to the founding of the competition authority of our country, its basic duties and functions as well as the main challenges it faced at certain stages of its development. Emphasis was placed on adjusting the legal framework for competition and state aid in the Republic of Moldova to the European standards and the importance of enforcement in accordance with best international practices.
