The implementation of pro-competitive mechanisms in the activity of lawyers in the Republic of Moldova, the challenges encountered and the proposed solutions is the subject approached today, 31 October 2017, within a new edition of Competition Café. The event gathered at a round table members of the Moldovan Bar Association, representatives of the Competition Council of the Republic of Moldova and Romania, of the European Union Project “Support to the Competition Council”.

The event’s moderator, Mrs. Viorica CĂRARE, the President of the Competition Council of the Republic of Moldova, opened the discussion platform with a welcome speech, followed by Mr. Emanoil PLOÅžNIÅ¢A, the President of the Union of Lawyers of the Republic of Moldova, with introductory remarks.

During the event Mrs. Cristina BUTACU, Director, Legal-Contentious Division, the Romanian Competition Council will participate with a presentation on “The role of the lawyer in meeting the objective of observing the competition rules”.

Subsequently, the participating lawyers and representatives of the Moldovan Bar Association are invited to discussions and debates on the problems they are facing and will have the opportunity to ask questions.

Ms Cornelia GORINCIOI, Head of the Unfair Competition Department of the Competition Council of the Republic of Moldova, will talk about “Elucidating some unclear aspects in the perception of lawyers over the activity of the Competition Council”.

We remind that the Competition Cafe discussion forum, launched by the Competition Council in December 2015, is now at its 19th edition and has become an important tool to promote and increase competitive advocacy among civil society and all sectors.
