The Competition Council, on 30 August 2013, launched an investigation on the alledged infringement of the Law on Competition on the market of water supply, investigating the actions of S.A. ,,Servicii Comunale Florești .
The investigation was intitiated on the grounds of a complaint submitted by an undertaking claiming the actions of S.A. ,,Servicii Comunale Florești on disconnection from drinking water supply, as a result of the refusal to change the water meter, which was valid at the moment of request.
Within the preliminary examination, another action alledge anticompetitive was identified, namely the fact that S.A. ,,Servicii Comunale Florești imposed the consumers to pay double for installing the water meter. Therefore, the consumers buy the water meter, and in the same time it is redeemed by paying monthly the bill for water supply and sewage, since the tarrif includes its cost.
Therefore, the investigation asseses an alleged abuse of dominant position by S.A. ,,Servicii Comunale Florești practiced by the aforementioned actions.
