The fine amounting over 1.4 mln. lei, applied by the Competition Council to “SANFARM-PRIM” S.A., for the refusal to deliver drugs to IMSP Ialoveni District Hospital, was paid into the state budget.
The Supreme Court of Justice upheld the Competition Council s Plenum decision that the actions of “SANFARM-PRIM” S.A. were qualified as a violation of the Competition Law.
We remind you that the Competition Council Plenum fined 6 economic agents, after they refused to fulfill their contractual obligations and to deliver fully and on time medicines to the medical institutions in the country (for details please see: Competition Council s Decision No. APD-18 of 21.04.2016.)
In this context, we reiterate that the refusal of contracted pharmaceutical companies to deliver available drugs in hospitals because their profitability will be affected, without taking into account that people’s lives are endangered, is abusive and will never be tolerated by the Competition Council.
