Today, January 31st, the Plenum of the Competition Council initiated an investigation on signs of coordinated establishment of exchange rate by some currency exchange offices, which could constitute a violation of the art. 5 of the Competition Law. This could poit out the existence of a cartel.
In this regard, there were effectuated unannounced inspections at the various exchange offices from Chisinau.
If the cartel is demonstrated, Enterprises risk a penalty of 5% from the annual turnover.
