In order to implement effective and fair Law on state aid and its provisions, on April 11, 2014, Viorica CARARE, President of the Competition Council of the Republic of Moldova, paid a working visit to Ungheni and Falesti.
The meeting was attended by mayors and secretaries of district localities councils, officials within the executive body of District Councils, representing the presence of about 95%.
During the meeting they were informed on the need to implement aLw on state aid, and on the economic sanctions that can be imposed for failure to comply with the aforementioned act.
In particular, Ms. CARARE warned that: “Any aid that is granted must be notified or reported to the Competition Council in order to prevent distortion of competition rules by state aid providers, who are considered local and central public authorities.
Please note that the Law on State Aid entered into force on 16 August 2013. It establishes the legal framework for authorization arrangements, monitoring and reporting of state aid granted to beneficiaries in all sectors of the national economy, except agriculture, in order to maintain a normal competitive environment.
