We have decided to launch a blog on the official website of the Competition Council – a space for more informal communication, where we can discuss, in greater depth, topics that are important, yet do not always fit within the format of official press releases.

Until now, our communication has been carried out mainly through press releases – decisions, notifications, announcements of activities. We try to draft them as clearly as possible, but the official format remains a rigid one. It sometimes limits us when we want to explain, in accessible terms, the reasoning behind a decision, to address related themes, or simply to go into more detail (as some journalists have told us, even one A4 page can feel too long for a press release).

This blog will allow us to do just that: to highlight specific aspects of decisions, explain the logic behind them, and answer frequently asked questions. We will also cover broader topics related to competition policy, developments in the field, types of anti-competitive practices, and relevant case law from the Court of Justice of the European Union – which, in many instances, is already becoming directly applicable in the Republic of Moldova.

We hope this blog will become a space for dialogue with both specialists in the field (who will find useful insights here) and the wider public – in particular, the business community, which is directly impacted (and sometimes affected) by the work of the Council.
