On February 17-18, 2025, the Competition Council held a training session dedicated to State aid rules and the challenges related to its calculation and quantification. The event was organized within the framework of the EU Twinning project, ‘Strengthening the institutional capacities of the Competition Council for the enforcement of competition and State aid policy in line with the best practices of the European Union.

The purpose of the training was to support the proper application of European regulations and the alignment of national State aid policies with European Union standards. During the sessions, experts from Poland and Romania analyzed key aspects related to compliance with the EU acquis, as well as effective methods for managing and quantifying State aid.

The event was attended by representatives of key institutions involved in the granting and monitoring of State aid, including the National Bank of Moldova, the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, the Ministry of Finance, the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development, and other relevant institutions.

This training session marks a new step in the development of the institutional capacities of the Competition Council and its partners, thereby strengthening the Republic of Moldova’s ability to implement policies in line with European principles.
