On 17 October 2025, the President of the Competition Council, Alexei Gherțescu, held a meeting with entrepreneurs from the municipality of Orhei, organized in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova.
The discussions focused on the main rules and principles of competition law, as well as on practical issues faced by the business community in their day-to-day activities.
Participants addressed topics such as infringements of the Competition Law and the ways in which these can be reported to the authority, unfair commercial practices, State aid, and merger control.
“Direct meetings with entrepreneurs help us better understand market realities and adjust, where possible, the way we explain and apply the law. Competition is not only a legal matter but also a fundamental condition for the sustainable development of businesses and for fairness in commercial relations,” stated Alexei Gherțescu during the discussions.
The event was designed in an interactive format, offering participants the opportunity to ask questions and receive clarifications on topics of interest.
Such meetings are part of a series of information and awareness-raising activities carried out by the Competition Council across the country, with the aim of strengthening dialogue with the business community and promoting compliance with competition rules as a key element of a fair and competitive economy.
