Between 22 to 25 April 2014, Ms. Viorica CĂRARE, the President of the Competition Council of the Republic of Moldova participated in the work of the 13th Annual Conference of the International Competition Network, in which represented the current situation with regard to the implementation of State Aid legislation in the Republic of Moldova.

     At the event, Ms. CĂRARE, reported on: the experience of our country regarding the implementation of state aid legislation; the need to harmonize legislation in accordance with European standards; issues related to state aid that could distort normal competitive environment; implementation of the National State Aid Inventory, etc.

     In particular, the President of the Competition Council of the Republic of Moldova talked about the unique experience of the country in creating an on-line Information System “State Aid Register of Moldova” (SIRASM) that allows to store and to view on-line state aid information at national and regional levels; to communicate with State Aid grantors; to receive on-line notifications and reports as well as to on-line monitor of state aid, etc. Concomitantly, she emphasized that this exercise is carried out under a project funded by the World Bank Group.

     ICN is an informal network which brings together national competition authorities around the world in order to disseminate best practices, to strengthen the role of competition authorities in promoting the principles of fair competition as well as to support global cooperation in this area.

     The 13th ICN Annual Conference was held this year in Marrakech, Morocco.
