On November 21, 2017, the Workshop entitled “Competition Advocacy and State Aid in the Republic of Moldova” took place in Chisinau.

The event was intended for the representatives of the State Chancellery of the Republic of Moldova and gathered under its auspices judges from the High Court of Cassation and Justice of Romania, representatives of the Romanian Competition Council and representatives of the Competition Council of the Republic of Moldova.

The Workshop focused on issues, solutions, challenges and consequences of non-compliance with competition and state aid laws.

The moderator of the event, Mrs CĂRARE, the President of the Competition Council of the Republic of Moldova, opened the discussion platform with a welcome speech. At the same time, the Workshop has the following speakers: Mr MAXIM, Member of the Plenum of the Competition Council of the Republic of Moldova, Mrs MARIN, Judge at the High Court of Cassation and Justice, Romania, Mrs BUTACU, Director of the Legal – Contentious Department of the Competition Council of Romania, Mr PILAN, Competition Inspector of the Romanian Competition Council.

The participants had the opportunity to be actively involved in simulating a case for solving an application for annulment of a negative decision on state aid, adopted by the Competition Council.

The event was organized at the initiative of the Competition Council of the Republic of Moldova, within the framework of the CEP-II World Bank.

This Project is carried out by the World Bank Project Implementation Unit (CEP II), as a Contracting Authority and the Competition Council of the Republic of Moldova as a beneficiary.
