The Competition Council hosted yesterday, 20 March 2025, a study visit of a group of students from the College of Commerce of the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (ASEM). This initiative, organized in the context of the International Financial Education Week (17–21 March 2025), provided young participants with the opportunity to learn more about the tools that ensure a fair and competitive market, as well as the role of the competition authority in safeguarding it.

The students were guided through the areas of competence of the Competition Council by Ms. Cornelia Gorincioi, Member of the Plenum of the institution, who explained the key aspects of competition policy. Topics addressed included anti-competitive agreements, abuse of dominant position, unfair competition, and unnotified merger. The students had the opportunity to understand how these practices affect the economy and the consequences they may have on consumers and the business environment.

To consolidate the knowledge gained, the visit concluded with an interactive quiz, where students had the opportunity to practically test their understanding of the concepts discussed. Those who achieved the highest scores were symbolically awarded, as a recognition of their engagement and curiosity.

The Competition Council encourages such educational initiatives aimed at fostering a culture of competition among young people, thereby contributing to the development of a responsible and informed economic society.
