Tuesday, April 15, 2014, 10:00 took place working session in which Mrs. Viorica CARARE, the President of the Competition Council, with Mr. Emil GUЮU Vice President and Mr. Ion MAXIM member of the Plenum of the Competition Council, they spoke about the State aid legislation.
The meeting took place at the Municipal Council and brought together mayors from suburbs and responsible for reporting and accounting departments of the State Aid Municipality Council Chisinau.
During the meeting they were informed about the need to implement Law on state aid, and on penalties that can be imposed for failure to comply with the aforementioned act.
In this context, the President of the Competition Council noted the importance of the correct application of this law, and warned that: “Any state aid that is granted must be notified or reported to the Competition Council, in order to prevent distortion of competition rules by state aid providers who are central and local public authorities.”
Please note that the Law on State Aid entered into force on 16 August 2013. It establishes the legal framework for authorization arrangements, monitoring and reporting of state aid granted to beneficiaries in all sectors of the national economy, except agriculture, in order to maintain a normal competitive environment.
